Sewage & Effluent Pumps (septic pumps)
Septic pumps come in two types – submersible style and in house style. Pump-Tech is able to fix and service, replace and install both styles of pumps on site. Effluent PumpsYour effluent pump is used to discharge water from the liquid side of your septic tank out to the septic field. There are two types of pumps that can be used to do this - an in house centrifical pump that is located in the basement or crawlspace, or a submersible pump that is located in the liquid side of your septic tank. Submersible effluent pumps look similar to your sump pump, but it is constructed differently. Your effluent pump is intended for more continuous duty and will have a longer life span. Pump-Tech recommends that your effluent pump be serviced on a yearly basis. When servicing your submersible effluent pump, we will remove any debris from the impeller of the pump, check the pill switch for proper operation, inspect wires to ensure there are no cracks or wear on the insulation of the wire and that there is no moisture wear or swelling wires. Doing this will increase efficiency and extend the life of your pump. It is also recommended that an alarm system be used on your septic system to alert you if your pump has failed, eliminating any chance of sewage backup into your basement. If you have an in-house or centrifugal pump, Pump-Tech will take your pump apart and clean it thoroughly and change check valve on pump, do amp test on motor to ensure proper operation.
