Sump Pumps & Pits
Your sump pump is used to remove water that has accumulated in a sump pit, which is found in the basement of your home. The water enters the sump pit via weeping tiles that are run around the foundation of your home. The water that enters the pit is either from ground water or rain water. The sump pump and pit are used to prevent flooding and dampness in your basement by collecting the water then discharging it outside to any place where it is no longer problematic. Pump-Tech can maintain your sump pump and pit or install one if you do not already have one. Most insurance companies have a clause in policy which outlines the benefits of having a sump pit and pump. We also install battery backup pumps that can keep your basement dry in case of a power outage. An alarm can also be installed to let you know if your pump has failed. We recommend that you examine your equipment every year. When servicing your system we will remove any sand, gravel and other debris from pump and pit which will increase efficiency and extend the life of your sump pump. We will also ensure the check valve is operating properly and discharge line is not partially obstructed which causes the pump to work harder and can cause failure prematurely. We will also ensure the sump pump float switch is clear of obstruction within the tank itself. Let Pump-Tech do the dirty work and keep your basement dry. We will install your sump pit or back water valve and you won’t even know we were there. Let us give you a piece of mind and avoid costly repairs from a flood.
